1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Local storage (localStorage) works in a similar way, but the data stays only in your browser and is not sent to the server.

2. Cookies we use

• yh_session (necessary): keeps you signed in. It is HttpOnly (scripts cannot read it) and lasts up to 30 days or until you sign out.
• yh_locale (preference): remembers your language. Lasts 1 year.
• yh_theme (preference): remembers the light or dark theme. Lasts 1 year.

All are first-party cookies (from our domain). We do not use advertising, cross-site tracking or third-party analytics cookies.

3. Local storage

We keep reading preferences (text size and theme) and player preferences (speed, language and playback options) in your browser so they stay the way you left them. This data never leaves your device.

4. Third-party services

The site fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Google sets no cookies in this process but receives your IP address and technical browser data to deliver the files, under Google’s privacy policy.

On the checkout page, the payment processor may use its own cookies for security and fraud prevention, under its own policy.

5. Legal basis and how to control them

Necessary cookies are essential to the service you asked for (sign-in and security). Preference cookies only store choices you made. That is why we do not show a consent banner. If we ever adopt analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent first.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie, you will not be able to sign in.
